Our signature clutch, hand made from vintage 'obi': the sash worn with kimono. The Nagoya obi is less formal and is more often worn 'everyday'.
A beautiful ‘Ougi’ fan is unfurled unfurls across this crimson Nagoya obi. This is the fan used in traditional Japanese dance performances. It is also a sign of prosperity and growth as it get larger as it's opened.
This obi is heavily embroidered with poppy red threads : it is Nishijin style of weave, a technique developed in an area of Kyoto around 1000 years ago.
This vintage Nagoya Obi was sourced from the Osaka area of Japan. It is approximately 30 -40 years old, and in excellent condition.
